Day 1: Dehradaun to Dhaula

Day 1: Srinagar to Sonmarg base camp, Shitkadi

For KGL trek, first, reach Srinagar- the capital of Kashmir and take a 3 hours drive to reach Sonmarg basecamp. The drive to beautiful Shitkadi is very picturesque. Because of this and the facilities, Sonmarg is one of the best camping places in India too.

Day 2: Trek from Shitkadi to Nichnai camp

The Kashmir Great Lakes trek begins from Shitkadi. The trail follows a moderate ascent for the first 3 hours, followed by an hour-long descent before another ascent leads to Ninchai. On the trek, you are treading through pine trees and maple forests along with a lush green meadow.

Day 3: Trek from Ninchai camp to Visnusar Lake

It is a long day trek. About half an hour from the start, the trail runs along the left bank of a river and arrives at the Ninchai Pass or the Vishansar Berry. The Ninchai Pass almost marks the halfway point of the day’s trek. Enjoy the beauty of the pass and snow-covered peaks all around it. The trek will undergo a steep descent and lead you to a pictorial meadow of colourful flowers. The climb to Ninchai pass is moderate before it descends into a flat walk as you approach Visnusar Lake.

Day 4: Trek from Visnusar to Gadsar via Kishansar Lake and Gadsar pass

It takes almost 2 hours to reach the Kishansar peak from the Visnusar campsite. From the top, you will be treated to the views of Vishnusar lake and Kishansar Lake. The trek towards the Kishansar Lake leads to Gadsar Pass. From the pass, trek through a flowery meadow to reach Yamsar Lake. Day 5: Trek from Gadsar to Satsar

Satsar is a cluster of seven beautiful lakes. It takes almost 6 hours to cover a 12 km distance from Gadsar to Satsar. The riveting views of the mountains and valleys in the entire trek route take your breath away.

Day 6: Trek from Satsar to Gandarbal twin lakes

Pass the Satsar Lake and keep going down till you arrive at the forest line. From here, start ascending upward and witness several ridges at different heights. Trek through a short rocky trail, and you will reach a lush meadow that advent towards the Nundkol Lake. Twenty minutes from Nundkol Lake, you will finally arrive at Gangabal Lake. Dzongri-Goecha La Trekking Itinerary

Dzongri-Goecha La Trek is one of the most adventurous trekking places in India for expert trekkers. After October, the temperature of the region usually falls below 0°C. Thus, using a warm trekking jacket and sleeping bag is highly recommended during the trek.

Day 1: New Jalpaiguri to Yuksom

Take a car from New Jalpaiguri to Yuksom. It will take around 6 hours to reach the base camp of Yuksom.

Day 2: Yuksom to Sachen

From Yuksom, your trekking begins, and you can enjoy the ancient bridges of Pha Khola, the Mentogang Khola River, the Tshushay Khola Waterfall, etc., till you reach Sachen.

Day 3: Sachen to Tshoka

In this way, you will cross the Village of Bakhim. Enjoy the clear sky and the beauty of River Prekchu. Once you reach Tshoka, the magnificent view of Mount Kanchenjunga and Mt. Pandim will take your breath away.

Day 4: Tshoka to Dzongri

This route of trekking is surrounded by rhododendron trees, mainly seen from March to May. Take a break at Phedang and enjoy the scintillating natural beauty while having lunch. Start again for Dzongri, and now you will be welcomed with colourful prayer flags and steep slopes.

Day 5: Spend the Day at Dzongri

You have passed a long way. It is time to revive your energy. Visit the Dzongri top, spend a night under the starry sky and get ready for the next part of the adventure.

Day 6: Dzongri to Thansing

You will enjoy the journey as it is ascending for the first few hours and then descending to the beautiful grassland of Kockchurang from where Thansing is only 2 km.

Day 7: Thansing to Lamuney

Cross the meadows of Thansing very carefully as those are very steep. Follow the trail and reach Lamuney. The outstanding view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and other peaks will mesmerize you.

Day 8: Lamuney to Goecha La and Back to Thansing

Start very early and reach Samiti Lake within an hour. From here, the path will be narrower, and you have to be very careful. Reach Goech La within 4 hours. There is no night stay arrangement due to very poor oxygen levels, so you have to return to Thansing for the night.

Day 9: Thansing to Tshoka

Follow the same trail to return and spend the night in Tshoka in the tents or villager’s huts.

Day 10: Tshoka to Yuksom

It will take lesser time to get back to Yuksom as you are descending now.

Day 11: Yuksom to New Jalpaiguri

Take a cab from Yuksom and get back to NJP.

Day 1: Rishikesh to Joshimath

Day 2: Joshimath to Govindghat and Trek to Ghangharia

Take a car from Joshimath and reach Govindghat about 20km away from Joshimath. Then 4 km drive to Pulna from where your trekking starts. Walk on the stone-paved road with the river beside you, and by completing a 10 km trek, reach Ghangharia.

Day 3: Ghangharia to Valley of Flower and Return

This is a distance of 4km, and you will need around 7 hours to complete this. After going some distance, you will see the river Pushpavati flowing furiously below a wooden bridge. Day 4: Ghangharia to Hemkund Sahib and Back

Begin the next day afresh and start early to reach Hemkund Sahib. You will find gradual and steep ascent throughout the journey. Here also you can enjoy beautiful flowers like Brahmakamal, Blue Poppy, etc. If you want to avoid walking, mule transportation is available till Hemkund Sahib.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat and Joshimath

Trek to Govindghat and take a car to reach Joshimath. If you have time, you can trek to Badrinath and enjoy the beauty of the place.

Day 6: Joshimath to Rishikesh

Pack your things and leave Joshimath for Rishikesh.

Day 2: Lohajung to Didna Village

Day 4: Ali Bugyal to Patar Nachauni

From Ali Bugyal, you go to Bedni Bugyal through a gradual ascent and then to Ghora Lotani. Take a break there and start for Patar Nachauni.

Day 5: Patar Nachauni to Bhagwabasa

From Patar Nachauni you start for Bhagwabasa. First, you will reach Kalu Vinayak Temple and take a break. From there, Bhagwabasa is only 1.5 km but very steep ascent.

Day 6: Bhagwabasa to Roopkund and Return to Patar Nachauni

Start early on this day and reach Roopkund, situated at an altitude of more than 16000ft. Roopkund, the lake of skeletons, is one of the best mysterious trekking places in India. To see the skeletons in Roopkund, you should visit here from August to October. From here, after steep climbing, you will find the Nanda Devi temple. This is the most challenging day of trekking, so you need to be careful.

Day 7: Patar Nachauni to Lohajung

This is the same trail you should follow while getting back. From Patar Nachauni, you will return to Lohajung through Wan. You need to trek to Wan and then take a car to Lohajung.

Day 8: Lohajung to Kathgodam

Gaumukh Tapovan Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri

Hire a car from Dehradun Rail Station to reach Gangotri. In this journey of 8 hours, you will cross the popular tourist destination of Uttarakhand like Mussorie, Dhanaulti, Chamba, and Harshil.

Day 2: Acclimate in Gangotri

Day 3: Gangotri to Chirbassa

Your trekking begins on this day. You will need an entire day to cross Gangotri National Park. Towards the end of the trek, you will cross the Sudarshan peak and will reach the campsite. The campsite is picturesque, with the Bhagirathi river gushing on the right, lying in between the mountains under the pine trees. Carry the camping essentials and stay here around the pine forest.

Day 4: Chirbassa to Bhojwasa

This is the easiest day of trekking as you will have gradual ascent sometimes in the route. A massive view of Mt. Bhagirathi will amaze you. Day 5: Bhojwasa to Khada Pathar via Gaumukh and Tapovan

Descent through rocky terrain and moraines and glacier till you reach Gomukh. After a steep descend to Gomukh, walk down alongside the Bhagirathi river and reach Chirbassa.

Day 7: Chirbasa to Gangotri

Entering again in Gangotri National Park, you will reach Gangotri from Chirbassa within 5 hours.

Day 8: Gangotri to Dehradun

Day 1: Delhi to Leh

Day 3: Leh to Skiu via Chilling

Hire a car till Chilling and enjoy this 3 hours journey with the views of Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, and the Zanskar-Indus confluence. From Chilling, trekking begins, and you reach Skiu, a small village located at the confluence of rivers Shgri Nala and Markha. It is the best offbeat trekking place in India.

Day 4: Skiu to Sara

It is a 10 km flat trail to trek. You will find cafes, tea houses, etc., in Nagding Village on your way. If you’re lucky, you may also find Makpie birds, blue sheep, mountain goats, etc., in this area. There are also several meditation caves.

Day 5: Sara to Markha

Trek to Markha through an almost flat ascent. You may need to cross small rivers while the mani stones and white stupas will make you feel more positive.

Day 6: Markha to Hankar

It will take around 11 hours to make the journey, and you will find Umling, the last village of the valley, on your way. Cross the village, and the first look at Mt. Kang Yatse will startle you.

Day 7: Hankar to Nimaling

This is the easy day of your trekking. The more you proceed, the magnificent view of Mt. Yatse will amaze you. Also, you will witness the fantastic scenery of Tigu Lake. Sheep, rabbits, and mountain goats are found grazing in Nimaling.

Day 8: Nimaling to Chokdo via Kongmaru La and Drive to Leh

This is the last day of the trek that leads to the highest pass of the trek. After now, you will get decent and reach Chokdo. You can take a rest at Kongmaru La and then start for Chokdo. This is the highest altitude pass to cross, so it is quite difficult. But the view of the Ladakh range and Indus Valley will stun you every time. From Chokdo, you take a car, and it’s only a 2-hour drive to Leh.

Day 1: Delhi to Manali

On the first day, enjoy a 4 to 5 hours drive from Manali. Stay there overnight and explore Manali.

Day 2: Manali to Kheerganga through Barshini

Drive to Manikaran and take a break there. Your trekking begins from this point—head towards Barshini.

After Barshini, walk to the bridge, take the left turn, and through Nakthan village reach Kheerganga within 4 hours.

If you take the right turn from the bridge, you will trek to Kheerganga via Kalga village.

Day 3: Kheerganga to Tunda Bhuj

This day you will cross a gradual ascent, but the journey is quite tiring. But, the beautiful flowering meadows and dense forest will give you some relief.

Day 4: Tunda Bhuj to Thakur Kuan

The trail will go through lakes, waterfalls, and meadows till Thakur Kuan. Thakur Kaun is a large pasture beside the river Parvati.

Day 5: Thakur Kuan to Odi Thach

You will cross the terrain region, and on your way, you have to cross multiple streams. Though it is the easiest day of trekking, you have to cross the tricky patch of Pandu Bridge. Apart from that, you will find a flat trail throughout.

Day 6: Odi Thach to Mantalai Lake

This day you will experience too many differences in terrain. There will be zigzag paths, fragmented bridges, and vintage landmarks throughout the trail. Finally, you will reach Mantalai Lake and get mesmerized by the beauty of the lake.

Day 7: Mantalai Lake to the Base of Pin Parvati Pass

This day is going to be exhausting. You have to cross too many steep ascents. You should not walk alone on this trail as the missing rate is quite high here. The Pin Parvati campsite is just at the edge of the Parvati glacier, and it is truly mesmerizing.

Day 8: Base Camp to the Summit of Pin Base/ Bedu Thatch

After three hours of climbing, you will arrive at the top of the pass, where you can see the way to Pin valley. You will get decent here, but trickier and more tiring than the ascent. From the pass, trekkers will witness the spectacular view of the snowy Hampta region on one side and the Pin valley of Spiti on the other.

Day 9: Pin Base to Tiya

This is a barren land from where you can get a view of Bhaba Pass. There are gradual descents, and the campsite is beautiful and windy.

Day 10: Tiya to Kaza through Mud Village

You need to trek to Mud which is the last village of Pin valley. The walk is almost on the flat trail. Then take a car to reach Kaza.

Day 11: Kaza to Manali

From Kaza, it is a long drive to Manali. Pass through Kunzum Pass which connects Lahaul Valley and Spiti Valley. Kunzum pass is 122 km from Manali.
